The
Mob Film Company is a thriving commercials production
company, also producing feature films and various Television projects.
The company was started in April 1998.
The
Mob's first major feature film production was the critically
acclaimed One More Kiss. Variety described it as ''an ambitious,
strikingly shot love story. An ode to life''. It was released
theatrically to rave reviews in the UK in February 2000 and will
be released in cinemas in the US in spring 2002.
A varied slate
of other titles are currently in development including Burns -
the life story of Scottish poet Robbie Burns written by Alan Sharp
(Rob Roy), and Crimebusters - a fast-paced heist
comedy.
The company
has also just announced a three-picture deal with Hollywood finance
and production entity, Gold Circle Films, the first of which will
be the comedy 'Bad Dog' for Gold Circle and Mostow Lieberman
in the US.
The
Mob has produced successful campaigns for some of the
biggest brands and most prestigious agencies in the country, including
Sony Playstation (TBWA), Pringles (Grey Advertising), Ariel (Saatchi
& Saatchi), PC World (M&C Saatchi), News International
(TBWA), Lloyds Pharmacy (Mustoe Merriman), the BBC, Nike and Virgin
Records. Other campaigns include work for Bates Dorland, J. Walter
Thompson and Ogilvy & Mather.
The
Mob also shot 32 commercials to launch the government's
New Deal welfare to work for the COI, and this year the Labour
Party election broadcast ''Economic Disaster II'' for their successful
election campaign.
The
Mob's first foray into television was Just Desserts,
a half-hour drama developed in association with HTV and nominated
for a Royal Television Society award.
In 2002, The
Mob has been commissioned to produce a 3-part documentary
series for Discovery presented by the creator of The Body Shop,
Anita Roddick and shooting May 2002.
The company
comprises:
- Vadim
Jean, who has directed five feature films including
Leon the Pig Farmer, Clockwork Mice and The
Real Howard Spitz starring Kelsey Grammer. His many awards
include the Evening Standard award for Best Newcomer and Best
First Feature at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
- Director
Lee Donaldson, whose background
in fashion and sports programming at Sky TV has lead to him
becoming one of the leading young commercials directors in the
UK.
- Producer
John Brocklehurst started
at Magic Eye Studios and has worked with Production International
and Intro creating innovative music videos and commercials.
- Producer
and Financial Director Ian Sharples
has line produced a number of feature films and coverage of
major sporting events all over the world including the Judo
coverage from the World Judo Championships and the Sydney 2000
Olympic Games for worldwide broadcast.
